Wow! I can't believe that I am finally saying this, I AM ON VACATION! PRAISE JESUS! I have needed this break for a while. I mean, I love work and all, but a week of just laying out, enjoying God's beauty in the Texas Hill Country is exactly the prescription that I need. I am leaving on Sunday and I will be gone till Thursday. I am truly blessed to have a family that I can just hang out with and have fun with at the same time. My dad is bringing his best friend and his family. There will be 8 of us total in three bedrooms, 50 feet from the Frio River! My dad is so excited about cooking and just hanging out with us. This will be our first family vacation since 2001. I have never been to the Frio River. I wonder if it is like the Guadalupe river? I have been to the Guadalupe river every summer for 18 years on and off. I normally go to Mo-Ranch, with my church, during the Memorial Day Weekend. It is located in Hunt, Texas which is very close to Kerrville. It is so beautiful. That trip starts out my summers usually. You can truly see God's creation standing on the Chapel on the Hill looking down. It is a sight that can't be missed!
Enough about previous vacations. So this upcoming trip will also be our first family vacation since my dad's diagnoses of prostate cancer. He was diagnosed fall 2003, and I found out when I was driving to SFA to start my first semester as a college student. It was very hard on me, as well as my family. His cancer was very advanced when they found it, and by the grace of God he is still here! I know that we are just ready to be together as a family unit again. It sucks when your family lives in another state. I either have to drive to where they live, or they have to come down here. My dad comes down every three months for check-ups at MD Anderson, so I get to see him, but I rarely see my mom and sister. The last time I saw my mom was in February. I saw my sister in May, she went with me to Mo-Ranch.
Ok, so really random post. Sorry, my mind is kinda scattered at the moment. Hopefully I will get to write more before I leave, if not see you on the flip side! I am including some pics from Mo-Ranch, and more pics of me and my family.
In His Name,
