Training in general is rough..

Me and several docents : )

Ok so this is my last week of training to become a docent at the Holocaust Museum. I am not going to lie, I don't think that I am prepared AT ALL to give tours! EEK! There is so much information in the core exhibit, how do I know what I should focus on? What if someone asks a really tough question? What if I get a Holocaust denier in my group, who grills and grills me? I am not doubting my knowledge about the Holocaust, I know a ton. It is just overwhelming. If you have ever seen the inside it can be alittle intimidating. I guess I just need alot of practice. Anyone who wants to see me give a 'mock' tour, let me know! I have been basically living at the museum this past week, following tours and just getting ideas in general. The thing I love about the museum is the staff and other docents are SO supportive of each other! I feel so blessed to be a part of such a fantastic group! I am excited that we are finishing up but I am also bummed. I mean, I am not going to miss the drive to the museum district two days a week, but I am going to miss the group, the conversations we had, everything! Parting is such sweet sorrow..

I am also training for the half-marathon and it is kicking my butt. I have been having some sleeping issues, and because I haven't been able to sleep I haven't been the best about running in the mornings. Praise God the weather has gotten nicer so I have been able to run in the afternoons : ) This morning was soo beautiful! I loved while I was running that the wind would pick up and cool me down. I am running a 5k in a few weeks, which I know I am prepared for. I am SUPER nervous about the 10k I am running a few weeks after the 5k in Arkansas. I am running that one in Fayetteville, Arkansas which is super hilly. As you all know, Houston is flat. There are a few spots at Terry Hershey Park that are hilly, so today I practiced running up and down those (man I am sore). I am really going to need to step up my game if I am going to be able to run this in a few weeks. Wish me luck!

Until next time..
